Are We Losing Control?

I was perusing the trends on Google when it dawned on me, society and life as we know it must be over.  The typical May Day protests for socialism against well, mostly socialistic countries and systems is just comical.  However, more importantly, here’s what people are really interested in: video games (source: Forbes), another troubled former child star actress (Amanda Bynes – pictured), a bad TV show (The Following) and Amy Schumer.  Yeah, Amy who?

Amanda Bynes – Pictures of boobs are fine but …

So this is it?  This is all … well … bleh!

Not everything revolves around motorsports and drag racing but I’m looking at these most popular things being Googled and I’m sick.  I realize I don’t come from the same time as those younger than I.  I don’t expect them to be like me just as I wasn’t like the generation before me.  Yet, I’m trying to keep an open mind but I see these non-stories as stories and I think — we’re doomed.

No, I’m not going to talk about any of those supposed trends – I probably did the world a disservice even mentioning them – but if you want to look them up, as you can tell, they’re all linked.  I don’t have the stomach to expound on such triviality.  And I’m not trying to be higher-than-thou.  I’m just a regular Joe who attempts to keep up with the latest while staying read on current events and anything else I can learn from.

Racers need to beware

Drag racers are sometimes considered less than normal for some reason.  Actually, they’re smarter than you think and probably your neighbors, friend, relatives, owners or fellow employees.  They use racing as a vehicle, so to speak, to have fun and do something competitive while entertaining at the same time.  It’s a thrill and an escape.

I guess my rambling has come to this.  I can’t do anything about crony politics that runs rampant right now nor the devolution of societal norms.  I do worry about the people I’m associated with.   I just hope that drag racers don’t become so mind-numbed as the rest of society.  Racers do have a knack for tuning everything else out.  Escapism is okay just so long as we keep our eye on what’s going on around us when we’re not at the track.

Otherwise, I had better hope Google is wrong.

  1. The title of the article is mid-spelled. I didn’t look at it til just now. Shouldn’t it be “Are we” instead of “Our we”?

  2. You just posted that because of the boob picture! You’re just as bad as the tabloids. Btw, when I’m in line at the market and all those stupid magazines are there with their idiotic stories, I have no idea who those people are or what they are talking about – and I’m happy about that. LOL!

  3. I changed the title before publishing it but then mixed the two titles. I have since changed it again.

You think I used the post just to show boobs? You’ll know that the sourced story and picture came from Fox News, which in-turn got it from Twitter.

It’s all legit and just bringing up a point. 😉 heh heh heh
